GASTROENTEROLOGIST OPPORTUNITY

We are looking to add a physician to our Gastroenterologist physician team at our Huntington VA Medical Center. We are seeking a highly motivated BE/BC Gastroenterologist physician, with an unrestricted MD / DO medical license, who shares our commitment to providing excellent care to our US Veterans.

The Hershel Woody Williams Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Huntington, W. Va. is a fully accredited 80-bed acute medical and surgical care facility that provides primary care and specialty health services, including gastroenterology, radiology, mental health services, womens health care, prosthetics, bariatric surgery, pain management, palliative care, sleep medicine and more.

Major Duties / Responsibilities

  • Outpatient clinical care for patients with GI diseases
  • Inpatient consultation services (patients are admitted to the Hospitalists/Medical Teams)
  • GI procedures include EGD with its associated procedures, PEG placement, colonoscopy with its associated procedures, paracentesis, ERCP, pH monitoring, pill cam activities and liver biopsy are encouraged, but not required for this position.
  • Utilization of conscious sedation in appropriate cases
  • Management of patients with Hepatitis C
  • Participate in appropriate hospital committees
  • Supervision of GI fellows and residents is expected as part of this position (with a clinical faculty appointment to be included).

Compensation / Benefits:

  • Excellent compensation - Great base salary, based on qualifications, with annual performance pay, biennial market pay raises & annual cost of living pay raises

  • Contract:  No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting
