National Jewish Health and Intermountain Health are seeking a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our OB Anesthesia team at St. Joseph Hospital located at 1375 E 19th Ave, Denver, CO 80218.

 

Position Summary
Collaborating with a physician anesthesiologist, the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) autonomously provides general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care for both planned and urgent obstetric surgery and obstetric interventions, while also undertaking anesthesia-related tasks.

Essential Duties

  1. Evaluates patients preoperatively and formulates and carries out an anesthesia care plan including monitoring and recording patient reaction to anesthesia and modifying the anesthetic plan accordingly.
  2. Skilled in the use and maintenance of anesthesia equipment. Skill to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and other hospital employees. Ability to assist with patients who may need ICU ventilators, high-risk intubations and facilitate fiber optic intubations.  
  3. Skilled in placing and using epidurals for labor analgesia.
  4. Excellent communication skills and utilizes a collaborative, team-based model of care. 
  5. Promotes mission, vision, and values of both National Jewish Health and Intermountain/SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards.  
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Education: Masters Degree or higher required from an accredited Nurse Anesthetist Program.
  2. Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience working as a CRNA on an OB deck preferred.
  3. Special Training, Certification or Licensure: Colorado RN license required. Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license required. CRNA certification by National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) required. Active BLS and ACLS required, PALS preferred.

Salary Range: $198,000 - $216,000
