Overview

AdventHealth for Children and AdventHealth Medical Group are looking for dynamic, innovative and energetic neonatologists as we expand our group at the Level 2 NICU at Holmes Regional Medical Center (HRMC) in Melbourne, Florida. 

  • Flexible schedule includes both restricted (in house) and unrestricted call (at home) consisting of approximately 15 shifts a month 
  • Neonatologist in collaboration with a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, will cover the 10 bed Level 2 NICU at HRMC along with the newborn service. 
  • The Neonatologist will also be available, on call, for high risk deliveries. 
  • The team will consist of two neonatologists and four Neonatal Nurse Practitioners 
  • Pediatric Hospitalist are on site managing the dedicate pediatric floor 
  • There is also a team of OB Hospitalist on site

The physicians will be part of a larger group of neonatologists that are part of AdventHealth for Children Orlando, formerly Florida Hospital for Children. Our regional network includes a delivery volume of approximately 15,000 births per year. We have a dedicated Neonatal transport team and are supported by experienced Pediatric Subspecialists.

The City of Melbourne is located in southern Brevard County, southeast of Orlando on Floridas east coast. It sits astride the Indian River Lagoon, with a large portion of the City located on Floridas mainland, and a portion located on a barrier island. The Indian River Lagoon separates the mainland from the beach side barrier island.

Practice Description

This is an employment opportunity through AdventHealth Medical Group, a 900+ physician, multi-specialty organization. AHMG is a sister organization of AdventHealth. Requirements of the position: 

  • Board Certification/Eligible American Board of Pediatrics 
  • Board Certification/Eligible Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine 
  • NRP and PALS certified

This position would also have the support of our Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children in Orlando is a full service, tertiary childrens hospital with over 200 dedicated pediatric beds, including a 22 bed PICU, 10 bed Cardiac ICU, a 102 bed level 4 NICU, 17 bed pediatric emergency department and statewide pediatric network and transport system. We started our comprehensive pediatric open-heart program in 2012 and have a strong track record of positive outcomes. We also have several key destination programs including our level IV Epilepsy program, and we increased Orlando area NICU beds to 150 total in 2017. Our unparalleled network consists of 30 hospitals across the state with one childrens hospital at the center and several extremely successful pediatric subspecialty programs including outreach clinics. Our newest program has brought pediatric liver transplant services to Central Florida.
