Summary of Functions
Responsible for rapidly counting large sums of money accurately and collecting bill validator boxes, while ensuring the safety of funds processed by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Ensures compliance with the Kalispel Tribe of Indians- State of Washington Gaming Compact, Internal Controls, NIGC Regulations and Northern Quest Policies and Procedures. •Responsible for working in a close-knit team environment while performing count and drop functions. •Good manual dexterity required with a good attention to detail. •Operates large and small currency counters. •Rapidly counts large sums of currency while ensuring the safety of funds processed. •Counts daily-receipts from gaming and retail operations. •Prepares strapped currency and chips for transfer to vault. •Sorts, counts and records contents of table game drop boxes, currency drop boxes, according to set procedures. •Balance funds and balance daily reports •Pulling and replacing table games and poker boxes. •Securing necessary keys for slot drop. •Slot drop, pulling and replacing the cash/ticket boxes throughout the floor on all player terminals, redemption centers and currency recyclers. •Cleans and maintains soft count room, equipment and drop carts. •Operates 10 key, coin counter, vacuum, as well as basic office equipment. Repetitive key turning. •Ensures control/protection of company assets. •Must be able to differentiate denominations of chips and authenticity of currency. •Responsible for maintaining a good attendance record. •May be required to be a panelist for the Internal Review Hearings. •This job description does not list all of the duties of this position. Education
•High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Experience
•Six months experience handling large sums of money preferred.
Skills
•Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft programs and other computer software. •Adding machine, computer terminal operation, and currency counting machine skills is preferred. •Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages and ratios to practical solutions. •Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team. •Must present a well-groomed appearance. •Skill in solving practical problems and dealing with situations where only limited standardization exists. •Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. •Knowledge of principles and practices of general business administration including personnel practices and employment laws, general accounting practices. •Skill in identifying and resolving administrative problems under pressure conditions.
Other Requirements
•Ability to obtain and maintain a Class III Gaming License. •Duties and responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed •Other duties as directed. •Available and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
Physical Demands
•Requires the strength to push and or/pull carts weighing up to 300 pounds. •Requires the ability to lift 25-75 pounds on a regular basis. •Constantly requires the ability to give and receive detailed information through verbal or written communication. •Constantly requires verbally expressing or exchanging ideas of important instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly. •Constantly requires working with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm. •Constantly requires repetitive movement of the wrists, hands and/or fingers. •Often requires walking or moving about to accomplish tasks. •Requires standing and/or sitting for sustained periods of time. •Occasionally requires ascending or descending stairs or ramps using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. •Often requires raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally. •Occasionally requires stooping which entails the use of the lower extremities and back muscles. Infrequently requires crouching. •Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to tobacco smoke, moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The worker is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes, and is occasionally subject to outside environmental conditions and to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Travel Requirements
Local travel is occasionally required. Travel outside of the state is infrequently required. Typical travel time is generally less than a week.
