The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at the University of Vermont and the University of Vermont Health Network seek to recruit a physician to join our established program in General/Comprehensive Neurology. The successful applicant will be involved in a primarily clinical care role at the University of Vermont Health Network hospital Central Vermont Medical Center (CMVC) in Berlin, Vermont. This position offers the unique opportunity to work in a community setting while still being involved with an academic center. Located in the heart of the Green Mountain state, CVMC has a reputation for clinical excellence with a staff deeply rooted in our community.
The general neurology practice at CVMC sees a wide variety of neurologic conditions, including epilepsy, stroke, headaches, and multiple sclerosis, as well as movement and neuromuscular disorders. We offer EMG/Nerve conduction testing as well as standard and ambulatory EEG monitoring. This is predominantly an outpatient practice, but neurologists also share call for inpatient consultations. Decisions on acute stroke management are not handled by neurologists at CVMC.
This is a full-time, 12-month, 1.0 FTE position with attending staff privileges at CVMC.
All applicants must be American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology board eligible/certified. Fellowship training in a clinical neurology discipline is desired, however not a requirement. Our goal is to continue the high level of clinical care and education currently provided as we develop our clinically integrated network. The Central Vermont Medical Center site is evolving as a graduate medical education site and opportunities for teaching will be supported.
