Control Board Engineering Design & Release Engineer (DRE)

you will have responsibility for company's control board product development and verification for electric vehicle platforms which may include mHEV, HEV, PHEV and BEV. The Engineer must be a strong systems-focused team player with interdisciplinary experience/expertise, and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.The DRE responsibilities include but not limited to:

Work with technical subject matter experts to develop cost effective and reliable control boards using cutting edge technologies, simulation tools, and test and evaluation equipmentParticipate in Power Inverter Module (PIM) Control Board sourcing activities, including

Development of source packagesConducting supplier technical review meetingsProviding engineering assessment of each supplier's proposal

Develop power electronic controller DVP&R and all required verification testing to ensure achievement of all functional objectives and assure compliance to program goalsProcure components for various internal development teamsExecute Change Notices for all design changesInterface with the extended development team to integrate the control board within the PIM and Electronic Drive Module (EDM)Support creating Component Specifications from vehicle, system and software requirements including requirements for Durability, Warranty, Safety and Performance at component levelParticipate in supplier assessments working closely with technical subject matter expertsWork with the chosen suppliers and manufacturing entities to ensure designs are robust to customer requirements, meet exact function, and are manufacturable without defectParticipate in post-test inspection reviews including detailed failure analysis, and recommend changes to product specifications as necessaryTrack progress of component development, verification, and production both internally and externallyAssist Issue Resolution and tracking at Technical, Program, Production and Financial levelsAssist reporting progress and status of component development at various team level meetings

Requirements:Basic Requirements:

BS degree in Electrical, Computer, or equivalent Engineering Degree3+ years experience or MS degree in electronics design and developmentAbility to read/interpret Circuit Schematics, Worst Case analysis, layout drawingsKnowledgeable in development of DFMEA, DVP&R, and Validation PlansGood analytical and problem-solving skillsHighly motivated and self-starterDemonstrated ability to work in a team environmentAbility to interface professionally with key customers, cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/managementStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong presentation skillsAble to manage multiple responsibilities, one's own time while being mindful of deadlinesMust be task oriented, detail oriented, and accurate with workPreferred Requirements:

MS degree in Electrical, Computer or equivalent Engineering Degree5+ years of DRE experience, preferably in Power ElectronicsKnowledge of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and fabricationAwareness of Power Electronics, Simulation Tools, and Motor Control Software MethodologiesHands on experience with design, release and manufacturing of critical Inverter Systems for Automotive application
