Summary :
Position develops and maintains the district GIS system; position also prepares, modifies, and updates CAD plans as necessary for the district.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Advises the Engineering Director on matters of GIS development, district GPS needs, and long-range marketplace trends/developments.
Integration of PACP/MACP and CMMS information into GIS.
Generates GIS reports as required to enable district staff to effect Asset Management Program (AMP).
Responsible for obtaining and implementing accurate district GPS asset location information.
Coordinates/obtains City of Decatur GIS information to ensure a comprehensive overview of the area collection system.
Administers district policies of annexations, tapping permits, reviews City of Decatur Urban development memos, and maintains appropriate records as required.
Make presentations of system information to management as requested.
Education and Experience :
Formal training in GIS is required. GIS applicable experience is preferred. Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer Aided Design/Drafting training or experience is desired. Construction experience in the wastewater industry is desirable.
Other Skills and Abilities :
Must be proficient with personal computers, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and other designated software.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations :
Must have a valid Illinois Driver's license.
