Whether managing water treatment at the award-winning plant, maintaining the $730 million in infrastructure, or ensuring and protecting long-term water, Castle Rock Water has many opportunities available to learn and grow with the organization.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Prepares and maintains GIS-based utility maps. Maps the location of utilities features in the field using GPS equipment. Collects digital photographs and other utility attributes in the field and enters them into GIS and asset management databases.Conducts mapping research, in the field and in the office, to resolve conflicting information and ensure the accuracy of the GIS data and mapping products.Reviews and interprets construction and record engineering drawings to update utilities GIS and attribute data. Also maintains the record drawings database with data received from the Development Services and Public Works Departments.Conducts queries and analyses using spatial and non-spatial databases to assist with day-to-day issues and public inquiries.Assists in the development and maintenance of the Asset Management and Work Order Systems, including mobile applications. Trains personnel in the use of the Asset Management Work Order Systems, and filtering and reporting functions.Identifies and resolves complex hardware and software issues by working with system users, vendor support staff, IT and GIS staffs.Responds to customer requests from both Town staff and the public for Utility- specific GIS data, copies of engineering-related documents, including record drawings, asset specific data and inspection information.Identifies and suggests ways to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality, seamless customer service to both internal and external customers.Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.Education:Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Planning, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or closely related fieldExperience: One to three (1-3) years' practical and relevant experience with asset management systems, geodatabases, ArcGIS, GPS surveying, database development and design; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experienceLicenses and/or Certifications: Valid Driver's LicenseKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Familiarity with symbols and terminology used in civil, architectural, or electronic engineering drawings.Skill in working with ArcGIS, performing GPS surveying, database development, maintenance and design.Working knowledge of GIS software, such as ArcView, ArcEditor, and Microsoft SQLServer, SQLExpress, with geodatabase design and management.Ability to become familiar with industry-specific (such as water, wastewater and storm water) terminology, symbology and operations.Communication skills to communicate orally with customers and clients in face-to-face and one-on-one settings or over the telephone.Ability to enter data into a computer terminal, PC, mobile devices or other keyboard device requiring continuous or repetitive arm-hand-eye movement for extended periods of time.Ability to physically access field sites to utilize GPS technologies to perform field data collection, including areas that require confined space entry procedures.Physical Demands:Sedentary work for long periods of timeOccasional physical work including ability to move and lift equipment weighing up to 10 lbs.
