As a Regional Sales Manager, you will oversee and manage the sales operations within a specific geographic region. Your primary responsibility is to drive sales growth and achieve revenue targets for your region. Overall, as a regional sales manager, you play a crucial role in driving sales growth, managing a high-performing sales team, and ensuring customer satisfaction within your assigned region.
What you will do:Partner with Sales and Marketing to develop sales strategies and set sales targets for your region in alignment with the overall organizational goals. This includes analyzing market trends, identifying potential opportunities, and determining the best approach to penetrate the market effectively.Lead and manage a team of territory managers within your region. This involves recruiting, training, and motivating the team to achieve their individual and collective sales targets. You provide guidance, support, and regular feedback to help them improve their performance.Monitor and assess the sales performance of your team, tracking key metrics such as sales revenue, market share, customer acquisition, and customer retention.Analyze sales data to identify trends, evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies, and make necessary adjustments to optimize performance.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders in your region. This includes understanding their needs, addressing any concerns or issues, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. You may also participate in customer meetings, negotiations, and contract discussions.Collaborate with other departments such as marketing, product management, and finance to align sales strategies with overall business objectives. You provide feedback on market trends, customer requirements, and competitor activities to help shape product development and marketing strategies.Identify training needs within your sales team and provide coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.The ideal candidate will have:
A minimum of 5 years of combined experience in outside sales, sales manager, or related role in the outdoor industryA bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field is preferred.Proven sales experience selling consumer products to dealers, distributors, and distribution channelsPassion; for brands, for creativity, for the outdoors (in particular, fishing)Keen financial and business acumenAdditional qualifications that will help you be successful in this role:
