Summary:

Mid-Sized Financial Services company needs an MS SQL DBA to work within our IT department. Reporting to the Director of Applications, this candidate will assist in maintaining the internal databases for efficiency, performance, create ad-hoc reports and anticipate growth.Corporate office is located above Union Station but the position is remote with only occasional times coming to the office to meet with the team. Coming to the office isn't a standard routine (e.g. weekly).Key Position Responsibilities:

MS SQL Server Database AdministratorExtensive TSQL experience, including query optimizationCreate and maintain SSIS packagesCreate and maintain SSRS reports, and SSRS subscriptions, and maintain SSRS serverCreate and maintain SSAS cubesPerform code reviews for SQL work from the developers and provide guidance on acceptable code practicesMaintain knowledge of best practices surrounding IT technology, processes & database / support,Communicate with team members to gather accurate requirements for new enhancements and applicationsMaintain database documentation regarding data standards and proceduresNon-Technical Requirements :

6+ years Microsoft SQL Enterprise DBA experience is requiredExperience working in smaller teams within a growing environmentProven ability to independently manage tasks and priorities, accurately estimate work, and meet deadlinesAbility to work under minimal supervision in a fast-paced team environmentStrong problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, and self-motivatedExcellent verbal/written communication skills.Strong analytical and design skillsExperience translating functional requirements into technical specificationsAbility to escalate issues for resolutionTechnical Requirements:

Prior experience with backup strategies, clustering, log shipping, and DR testingPrior experience with High Availability Failover clusters, SQL server/job monitoring.Prior experience in performing software/patch updates to database serverHands-on experience creating, modifying, and analyzing SQL and T-SQL statementsProven knowledge of Stored Procedures, Tables, Views, Indexes, KeysUnderstanding of database performance bottlenecks and ability to track them down.
