$5,713 to $6,949 per month (SR-24, Step D to I)

Note: Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant's qualifications, and other relevant factors.

The Capital Improvements Coordinator conducts and coordinates general short and long range capital improvements planning and cost estimation; reviews and accepts or advises rejection of materials specifications; reviews and makes recommendations concerning contract renovations; participates in on-site construction inspection work; and performs other related duties as required. To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

LEGAL AUTHORIZATION TO WORK

:The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.

Education:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in

architecture, architectural engineering or civil engineering.

Experience:

Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in

one or a combination of the types described below:

A.

Professional experience which involved the preparation of designs, plans specifications, contracts estimates and reports for various types of buildings and installations; and the inspection of construction work to insure conformance with designs, plans, specifications and contract agreements.

B.

Progressively responsible experience which involved responsibility for developing the capital improvement plans and budget for an agency; serving in a liaison capacity between management officials of the agency and officials of architectural firms and construction companies; preparing designs, layouts, plans and specifications for the construction, alteration and repair of buildings and structures; and inspecting of buildings and structures for workmanship and compliance with the provisions of building and zoning codes and ordinances, and according to approved plans and specifications.

Driver's License:

Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment. The immediate vacancy has this requirement.
