POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will provide technical support for hardware repair, loading of software, systems client setup, work station configuration, user support, e-mail, Windows OS, student management software, library software, general network troubleshooting for assigned location(s) in the district. This individual should be able to share technical expertise in the development, configuration, repair and troubleshooting resolutions in this area of technology.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Work with all staff members in a professional manner.Troubleshoot and repair PC's and associated peripherals.Troubleshoot network problems to include both copper and fiber wiring, network hubs and associated devices.Install configure and maintain PC's in both a stand-alone and/or network environment to include installing hardware, software and updates for Windows OS, printer & NIC drivers, OS patches, and virus software.Troubleshoot projectors and Smartboards and make minor repairs including changing lamps in overhead projectors.Troubleshoot Internet/Intranet connectivity.Diagnose problems with systems client connections.Use network administration tools to manage user accounts, network applications, etc.Participate in learning and self-improvement opportunities; explore new technologies, methods, processes, and find and uses appropriate technology for given tasks.Perform other duties as assigned.ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Ability to install, troubleshoot and repair PC hardware, peripherals, network and stand-alone software.Ability to troubleshoot basic LAN/WAN problems and submit work orders for repair.Ability to utilize all available tools and resources to diagnose and resolve problems.Ability to work in an environment that includes dust and heat; lift and carry up to 35 pounds; climb a ladder to service overhead projectors.Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others.Ability to handle multiple problems at multiple locations while maintaining prompt and courteous service.BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.Technical certifications (e.g., A+) preferred.A basic understanding of WAN/LAN operations preferred.Possess valid Driver's License and transportation in order to support multiple locations in the district.

Ability to work in a variety of locations and travel throughout the District.While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, stand and reach.
