Rithum is looking for a detail-oriented team player to join the Finance Team as a Senior Accountant. This person must be willing to work East Coast business hours (8am – 5pm ET). We’re looking for someone who is eager to join a fast-growing company and contribute to the continued success of the accounting team. You will build relationships across all departments and levels throughout the organization, ensure accurate and timely reporting and help maintain compliance with the Company’s financial policies. Duties will include preparing entries and month-end reconciliations in several key areas, performing analysis on accounts, implementing process changes and improvements, and assisting the team with internal and external requests to management and auditors. Additionally, this role will split time with the tax function and will be involved with US federal and state income tax compliance and related filings, and various information reporting. The job also involves ASC 740 income tax accounting and the preparation of the annual income tax provisions. The responsibilities of the position will also include involvement with sales and use tax, property tax, and international taxes (e.g., VAT, GST).Responsibilities
Preparing journal entries and the month-end reconciliations in several key areas, including: accrued expenses, payroll and payroll-related accounts, prepaids, and fixed assetsEnsuring fixed assets are properly recorded and in line with company policyOngoing administration of our travel and expense platform and corporate purchasing card programPreparing and filing periodic sales and use tax, VAT, and GST returns, including reconciling TB account balances to returnsPreparing and filing quarterly and annual US federal and state estimated income tax payments, income and franchise tax extension, and working with our 3rd party service providers to prepare income and franchise tax returnsPreparing and filing annual property tax returnsAssisting with the preparation of the annual ASC 740 income tax provisionQualifications
Minimum Qualifications
3 to 5 years of accounting experience in a corporate environmentUnderstanding of accounting rules and a month-end close processHighly detail-oriented and organizedAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlinesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPreferred Qualifications
