Customized asset-based finance solutions for business aviation.Position Summary:The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for ensuring tax compliance, working with the accounting team on ASC 740 accounting for income tax items, and helping lead overall process improvements to gain efficiencies. This role will also partner with other areas of the Finance & Accounting organization, the broader business, and external advisors/auditors.Duties and Responsibilities:Prepare calculation of quarterly tax estimates and tax distributions.Assist in preparation of the year-end income tax provisions, including providing the accounting team with tax journal entries.Accurately prepare tax account reconciliations and requested data analysis.Assist in coordinating with outside tax advisors to ensure all required filings are timely completed.Assist in preparing and documenting the company’s annual R&D credit calculation and supporting workpapers.Manage the filing calendar to ensure dozens of monthly deadlines are met.Assist in preparing and filing US sales/use tax workpapers, gross receipts, VAT workpapers, and Canadian GST workpapers.Respond to sales tax, VAT, and Canadian GST questions regarding taxability.Coordinate with accounts payable team to ensure tax payments are accurately submitted.Investigate and address queries and notices from tax authorities.Initiate and assist in the implementation of departmental process improvements.Assist with direct or indirect tax audits, as necessary.Assist Director of Tax with other duties or special tax projects as needed.Desired Credentials:College degree in Accounting, CPA preferred but not required.3-4 years working in public accounting tax or within a tax department.Strong Excel skills.Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize.Requires attention to detail.Ability to follow through on open items and tasks.Take initiative in regular process improvements.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excel at working independently.Experience with Dynamics 365 (D365), Quantum, OneSource, Thompson Reuters, and proficiency in Microsoft Office a must.SSI is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
