Position Purpose:
The Preschool Director is responsible for fostering a Christian environment that allows children, their families and the staff to develop their full God-given potential; responsible for the operation of the preschool, for compliance with regulations, and for communications with preschool staff and families. The Director is responsible for creating a safe, attractive and exciting learning environment for preschool-age children and their families by ensuring the preschool offers a developmentally appropriate curriculum that prepares children for future success.
Position Responsibilities:
Cast and implement a vision that meets the needs of families and results in the preschool having a positive reputation within the church the communityLead the day-to-day operations of the preschool, including curriculum development, staff hiring and management, marketing and communications, recruitment and enrollment, family relations, budget development and management, safety planning, and regulatory complianceImplement curriculum for students that supports bringing faith to life in real and meaningful waysMonitor and support the overall progress and development of students in their educational passions while growing stronger in their Christian faithFacilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to develop their unique God-given potentialTo contribute to raising standards of student achievementTo ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, policies and safety proceduresSkills/Qualifications:
Must be a committed follower of Jesus Christ and have a heart for ministryStrong advocate for Christian educationCollaborative, compassionate, creative, high energy and solutions-orientedAbility to work independently as well as in team environmentsAbility to collaborate, coordinate and convey information with multiple departments, individuals, and outside organizationsStrong facilitator and developer of people and leadersStrong time management and organizational skillsGenuine servant-hood, Gospel-centeredness, and spiritual maturity that results in good communication skills with ministry heads, staff and congregation membersDemonstrate a commitment to handling conflict biblically, following principles in Matthew 18Able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriatelyMaintain appropriate personal and professional boundariesQualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Development and completion of approved Teacher Preparation Program for the State of MichiganExperience directing or managing a preschool or classroomMinimum of 5 years experience in the field of early childhood education; demonstrated understanding of principles of early childhood developmentExperience in school administration preferredKnowledge of managing, scheduling, observing and evaluating staffUnderstanding of laws, regulations, etc. to run a successful preschoolCurrent CPR and First Aid Certification
