PROJECT ENGINEER
is required by our Client, an Oil and Gas Contractor, to be assigned on a contract basis, located in New Iberia, Louisiana.
POSITION SCOPE
Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can leverage your engineering expertise to bring complex projects to life? As a Petrochemical Project Engineer, you'll play a vital role in overseeing the entire lifecycle of capital projects within the petrochemical industry.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIESManage the execution of capital projects, ensuring they meet scope, schedule, and budget constraints.Provide technical and project management oversight across project phases of construction, and chemical maintenance operations.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering teams, contractors, licensors, and regulatory agencies.Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets, identifying and mitigating potential risks.Review and approve engineering designs and specifications.Manage project costs and ensure adherence to financial budgets.Track project progress and identify and address any deviations from the plan.Prepare and deliver project status reports to management.Coordinate the work of assigned staff and contractors.Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, environmental (SHE), and quality standards.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in engineering or project management within the petrochemical industry (preferred).Strong understanding of petrochemical processes and equipment.Proven experience in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Strong Excel Background required.Proficient in project management software (Primavera P6, or MS Project).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
