Position Summary...

What you'll do...

As a Staff Software Engineer (Front End) you are responsible for developing high performance and scalable Sam's Item System that meet the needs of millions of Sam's Club customers. Design and develop integrations with next generation item management application that is built largely on an event driven platform implemented via a micro-frontend architecture. We are looking to bring more intellectually curious engineers who are passionate about technology in general.

Sam's Club provides a carefully curated assortment of items, as well as developing and leading technologies and services such as Scan & Go, Club Pickup, and home delivery service in select markets. Sam's Club also provides travel, auto purchasing, pharmacy, optical, hearing aid centers, tire and battery centers, and a portfolio of business operations support services.

Our Sam's Item Engineering team has Syndigo SaaS solution to onboard and maintain a product data at the individual item, pack, case, and pallet level for easy supply chain integration. You will work on NextGen Sam's item initiative by leveraging Walmart item ecosystem and develop modular components using micro frontend architecture. You'll independently handle high impact, critical software/systems monitoring issues, troubleshoot business and production issues. As a member of this fast-moving and highly entrepreneurial team, you'll be able to say that you work for the world's largest retailer and contribute to innovation and development to best-in-class methodologies that impacted perception and drastically changed business as we know it.

What You'll Do

Design & develop highly scalable system and solve complex business problems by leveraging state-of-the-art technology.Provide technical direction, architecture leadership and expertise to the team.Lead by example. Show your chops as an exceptional and experienced developer.Drive projects of high visibility across the organization.Participate in medium- to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects by reviewing project, product and business requirements; translating requirements into technical solutions; gathering requested information (for example, design documents, product requirement); designing robust and scalable architectures; writing and developing code; conducting unit testing; communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders; collaborating with cross functional teams; troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes; enhancing design to prevent re-occurrences of defects; ensuring on-time delivery;

What You'll Bring

Deep understanding of React.js and its core principles.Experience with hooks, context API and state management libraries like Redux, MobX.Proficiency in building reusable components using HTML, CSS3, and pre-processing platforms like SASS or LESS and front-end libraries.Experience with CSS-in-JS solutions using styled-components or Emotion.Strong command on modern JavaScript (ES6+).Familiarity with TypeScript for type safety and better code quality.Understanding of RESTful APIs and GraphQL.Experience with Node.js and server-side rendering frameworks like Next.js.Proficient in unit testing and end-to-end testing frameworks using Jest, Enzyme or Cypress.Working knowledge of one or more cloud technologies such as AZURE, GCP, OpenStackWork with a team of highly skilled developers and testing professionals to deliver high quality test automation and products.Familiarity in internet-scale distributed technologies (e.g. Solr, Kafka, Mem Cache, etc.)Relevant experience with relational and no-sql databases (e.g. MySQL, Oracle, Cassandra, etc.)Advanced knowledge of complex software design, distributed system design, design patterns, data structures and algorithms.Analyze test results, triage tickets, and work closely with team members to debug and reproduce reported issues.Focus on automation first, with a goal of 100% automated test cases consisting of fast, reliable, API-level tests that can be incorporated into a Continuous Integration environment.Experience and exposure working in a 24/7 operations support environment.Advocate for testability and quality throughout the entire feature development cycle.Experience with distributed version control like Git or similar.Familiarity with continuous integration/deployment processes and tools such as Jenkins and Maven.Strong experience interfacing with Web Services platformsExperience in all areas of engineering including DevOps, Chaos Engineering, SRE, and on-call rotations to assure service availability and operational excellence.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional Compensation Includes Annual Or Quarterly Performance Bonuses.
