PRIMARY PURPOSE - Summarize the primary purpose and objective of the position (why the job exists).

The Business Development Manager is responsible for generating all new business development in targeted and represented business segments to continually refresh a new client pipeline for increased revenue growth.

This position has no direct reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Generates New Business Development

Works with Sales Manager to implement strategic plan to engage and close new business across all product segments applicable, based largely upon current industry trends

Utilizes Analytics, Marketing, QA and other cross functionalities to assist in creating leverage for new business opportunity across all applicable product categories and vertical markets: Food, Snacks, Carbonated Beverages, Teas, Coffee, Bars, Bakery, Alcohol/Non-Alcohol Beverage, Supplements/Nutritional etc

Appropriately transitions converted clients (after 6 months - 1 year) to the Account Management team for ongoing business management and continued business development

Continually monitors sales goals, metrics and KPIs; communicates roadblocks and strategizes with the Vice President for goal attainment

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains fluid communication with the Account Management team

Calls on client (face-to-face) and attends tradeshows

Performs other duties and tasks, as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in business or related field; additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

5 years of progressively responsible experience in B2B Sales and business development

Results and commission driven; strong history of closing new business

Strong interpersonal and communication (written/verbal) skills

Tenacious and professionally persistent

Creative, big picture thinker and willingness to take risks outside the box

Excellent presentation skills with a keen ability to address a variety of audiences through a variety of mediums (verbal, technology driver, written)

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Strong planning and project management, organizational and multi-tasking skills

Strong desire to learn new products and system

Valid driver's license and a clean driving record, free of accidents and incidents

Experience in the food industry, preferred

Relocation optional.
