1. PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Business Development Manager is responsible for generating all new business development in targeted and represented business segments to continually refresh a new client pipeline for increased revenue growth.

This position has no direct reports.

2. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Generates New Business Development

Works with Sales Manager to implement strategic plan to engage and close new business across all product segments applicable, based largely upon current industry trendsUtilizes Analytics, Marketing, QA and other cross functionalities to assist in creating leverage for new business opportunity across all applicable product categories and vertical markets: Food, Snacks, Carbonated Beverages, Teas, Coffee, Bars, Bakery, Alcohol/Non-Alcohol Beverage, Supplements/Nutritional etcAppropriately transitions converted clients (after 6 months - 1 year) to the Account Management team for ongoing business management and continued business developmentContinually monitors sales goals, metrics and KPIs; communicates roadblocks and strategizes with the Vice President for goal attainment3. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains fluid communication with the Account Management team

Calls on client (face-to-face) and attends tradeshowsPerforms other duties and tasks, as assigned4. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in business or related field; additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree5 years of progressively responsible experience in B2B Sales and business developmentResults and commission driven; strong history of closing new businessStrong interpersonal and communication (written/verbal) skillsTenacious and professionally persistentCreative, big picture thinker and willingness to take risks outside the boxExcellent presentation skills with a keen ability to address a variety of audiences through a variety of mediums (verbal, technology driver, written)Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPointStrong planning and project management, organizational and multi-tasking skillsStrong desire to learn new products and systemValid driver's license and a clean driving record, free of accidents and incidentsExperience in the food industry, preferredAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or veteran's status.
