Apex has an opportunity for a Senior Project Manager for a client in New York.
Here are the details:
Position: Sr. Project ManagerLocation: New YorkDuration: 18+ months
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:Manage multiple simultaneous projects ensuring that projects are aligned and directly support the achievement of strategic objectivesDevelop and manage all stages of the projects from initiation to closeExceptionally manage internal stakeholders and external vendor relationshipsDrive projects to successful completion while working within the constraints and timeline of the businessSupport the BA in requirements gathering, writing user stories and testingDefine project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of valueActively track each aspect of project performance against schedules, ensuring that milestones are being met and obstacles and issues are identified and brought to the designated team member to ensure that project goals are achievedComplete dependency mapping and consequently outline any risks or issuesIdentify and escalate issues and risks early to minimize impact to the overall project scheduleOwn and manage the Project RAID logsProactively communicate with business to ensure expectations are kept in line with project objectives and statusSupport the BA in the definition of acceptance criteria and quality metrics to help drive adoptionSupport the Program Manager and take on additional tasks as requiredEnsure the end-to-end solution is proven to deliver the required business resultsStrong knowledge in project / change governance.Good understanding of end-to-end life cycle delivery.To be able to report on the project proficiently and concisely through weekly status/checkpoint report.Highly effective written and oral communicationCoach, mentor and provide guidance and advice to project sponsors, stakeholders and peersUsing logic, reasoning and a methodical approach to identify innovative solutions to problemsAPMO or Prince II qualification or equivalentExperience in managing Waterfall and Agile projectsProficient in MS Project with good knowledge of understanding PredecessorsGood use of Excel and PowerPointLive and breathe the QBE Values and DNA
Must Haves:•6+ years of PM experience (SDLC)•Agile experience•Good understanding of end-to-end life cycle delivery.•To be able to report on the project proficiently and concisely through weekly status/checkpoint report.•Highly effective written and oral communication
Nice to Haves:•Understanding of Data Management and Data Governance frameworks•Understanding of data modelling concepts (conceptual, logical, physical), data catalogue and business glossaries
