Seeking candidates with strong technical and organizational skills to work in a network operations team. Candidates should have a strong understanding of core networking technologies including LAN, WAN, routing and switching. Candidates also should possess a strong knowledge with network analysis and packet capture tools like Wireshark, OpNET, Sniffer, Compuware, etc. Candidates should have a strong knowledge of Wireless, Firewalls and Proxies. Candidates should be able to interface with multiple teams from business areas, network engineering and management as a team representative on major incident bridges. Candidates must be able to work well under pressure and multitask during high severity incidents. Responsibilities will include supporting and providing advanced troubleshooting of a large complex data network infrastructure by using network monitoring and network management tools.

Job Description:The candidate will be part of a team performing Network monitoring and troubleshooting functions as well as team representation on major incident bridges. These functions consist of:Interface with multiple teams from business areas, network engineering and management as a team representative on major incident bridges.Perform advanced troubleshooting to identify, resolve, and provide root cause analysis of network related issues.Assist with maintaining network Data Center and LAN / WAN infrastructure and systems for small, regional, and large office and call center environments.Support a large complex data and voice network infrastructure by using network monitoring and management tools.Participate in and respond to system and network incidents.Perform system and network analysis by using well defined toolsets for proactive monitoring, troubleshooting and incident response (packet capture, application performance management, syslog, netflow etc).Provide technical support leadership on problem calls.Minimal travel as required to support troubleshooting and fixing network issues.Be able to work nights and weekends in an off hour shift role.Ability to work in a Command Center environment, logon to ACD phone queues and navigate an incident tracking system.

Basic Qualifications:At least 6 years experience in the network communications field with demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting network LAN and WAN infrastructures.At least 6 years experience in troubleshooting Cisco router and switch hardware platforms, TCP/IP and industry standard routing protocols.At least 4 years experience with packet capture and analysis products such as Netscout, Sniffer and Wireshark.At least 4 years experience troubleshooting Data and Voice circuits and understanding Telco infrastructures.At least 2 years experience interfacing with technicians and management on major incident bridges.

Preferred Qualifications:An Associates degree or equivalent technical experience with emphasis in Computer Science, Telecommunications or related field.Advanced proficiency in troubleshooting Cisco Router and Switch hardware platforms, TCP/IP, and industry standard routing protocols.Advanced proficiency in troubleshooting Network Firewalls, Proxys, Wireless and Load Balancers.Advanced proficiency in troubleshooting Data and Voice circuits with knowledge of Telco infrastructure and industry standards.Experience with packet capture and analysis products such as Wireshark, Sniffer, and Netscout.Experience in utilizing industry standard network management tools such as Riverbed, Openview HPNA, and NNM.Experience of working in a large geographically dispersed network environment.Excellent oral and written communications skills are required as well as strong organizational skills with attention to detail.Ability to adequately discuss technical issues with technicians, engineers, and vendors.Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively work with people in your immediate team and with departments in or outside of the enterprise, as well work independently as required.Ability to work in a fast-paced, often changing, and sometimes ambiguous environmentAptitude to assemble and clearly present technical information to non-technical people.Ability to balance multiple priorities.Customer service focused.
