We are actively seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to join our client's team in the Fintech sector.This position is ideal for someone with a deep interest in architecting, designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining software. This person will be an expert technologist with experience in highly scalable, highly available software. This individual should be capable of delivering high-quality work independently and learn from mistakes to continually grow in their role.The position is fully remote in the US!Responsibilities
Advocate for enhancements to product quality, security, and performance, and address technical problems of various scopes and complexities.Plan and lead complicated technical projects that work with several teams within the company.Write code that adheres to internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for high-scale web environments, and maintain these standards through code review.Identify and resolve impediments to team efficiency, such as technical debt, and propose and implement solutions.Represent the company and its values in public communication around specific projects and community contributions.Ship features and improvements with minimal guidance, collaborating with the team on larger projects.Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Strong working experience with Java.8+ years of proven experience building sophisticated applications and APIs in Cloud and hybrid cloud environments at large scale.Experience developing applications utilizing relational database engines as part of the overall application architecture.Extremely motivated, highly passionate, and curious about new technologies. Take pride in your work and strive to achieve incredible results and possess superb communication and planning skills.Coordinates optimally across organizational boundaries and geographies.Strong background of object-oriented design principles and design patterns.In-depth knowledge of AWS or other public cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, etc.).Additional information: Compensation: The base salary offered is up to $220,000, with additional yearly equity and performance-based bonuses included in the total compensation package.
