The Technical Senior Analyst in our client's Finance team will play a crucial role in the technical accounting function, reporting to the Technical Accounting Senior Manager. This position involves overseeing Technical Accounting for our client and collaborating with business unit finance teams, corporate financial planning and analysis (FP&A), tax, and other stakeholders to provide support on transactions and accounting issues. The Senior Analyst will also be responsible for preparing reports for the audit committee and materials with technical content for Executive Leadership, ensuring adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the organization's financial goals and policies.Within our client's Technical Accounting team, a vital corporate headquarters activity, the CEO and CFO rely on it directly for supporting financial reporting to external parties. The team focuses on a disciplined process of compiling and reviewing quarterly and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC filing regulations .The Senior Technical Accountant must handle ad-hoc projects, even without specific prior experience, and demonstrate adaptability. Candidates with experience in technical accounting roles often showcase their abilities through technical memos on various accounting topics. While ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 350 are common topics for our client, candidates with expertise in other ASCs and a history of writing technical memos on those topics are encouraged to share their profiles.Key Responsibilities:Offering significant contributions to the technical accounting function, partnering with various teams and providing support on transactions and accounting issues.Involvement in the preparation of new or existing accounting policies based on evolving industry standards and best practices.Interpreting U.S. GAAP accounting standards and SEC guidance for new, material, and/or complex transactions or agreements.Driving adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the organization's financial goals and policies.Representing financial results externally with fiduciary responsibility.Preparing or reviewing technical accounting memorandums for significant transactions and supporting the review process with finance management and external auditors.Leading process improvement and policy development initiatives.Supporting the adoption and implementation of new accounting standards.Facilitating training on relevant accounting topics to our client's personnel worldwide.Supporting ad hoc reporting requests and participating in broader SEC reporting or corporate reporting initiatives.Success in this role hinges on a combination of strong knowledge of US GAAP disclosure requirements, familiarity with SEC reporting guidelines, excellent writing skills, and a keen understanding of our client's business operations. The role entails engagement with external auditors, Legal, Investor Relations, Corporate FP&A, Close Reporting, and partners in the business and Corporate functions, providing an excellent opportunity to gain a broad overview of our client and extend knowledge in USGAAP and SEC reporting across various areas.Education and Experience Required:Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business (CPA or equivalent, MBA preferred).2+ years of experience in a finance function, with Big Four public accounting experience as a plus.Experience in the technology industry and with international companies is preferred.Knowledge and Skills:Strong understanding of accounting principles under US GAAP and financial analysis.Excellent planning, analytical, communication (verbal and written), and presentation skills.Outstanding analytical and project management skills.People management skills tailored to a wide variety of audiences.Self-starter with effective multitasking and prioritization abilities.Strong business acumen, understanding the company's policies and processes.Excellent consulting, influence, and negotiation skills.Proficiency in business applications such as Microsoft Excel and SAP.In response to your application, please be prepared to respond in email listing the topics on which you have written technical memos for additional context; i.e., ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 350 & other ASCs*.
