Job Summary:

The Department of Clinical Laboratories, Blood Bank at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Assistant Supervisor/TH Clinical Laboratory Technologist 1. The successful candidate will:

Adhere to departmental, hospital, and governmental regulationsPerform day to day laboratory operations, review quality control and performance improvement activitiesPerform specimen testing timelyRecord and achieve test and QC resultsMaintain inventory and statisticsShift staff around or assign staff additional duties in order to maintain work flow smoothlyCoordinate administrative operations for the laboratoriesPerform other duties and responsibilities as requiredRequired Qualifications:

New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist LicenseBachelor's Degree or equivalent college credits in Medical Technology, Physical, or Biological Science5+ years of experience supervising in a Blood Bank settingPreferred Qualifications:

ASCP certification

Work Schedule:

Variable Days; Variable Hours
