Description
POSITION PURPOSE
Provide input on the efficiency of the credit union's technology infrastructure to include switches, routers, servers, PCs and network hardware and software. Recommend changes, upgrades or new products as a result of on-going administration of the network and systems. Research and resolve problems for end users. Install hardware and software.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Supports the credit union's local area and wide area network hardware and software to ensure that back end functions, systems, PCs, servers, and all peripheral products are operational.Provides and runs backup procedures that maintain the integrity and security of the credit union's technology infrastructure.Assists/develops, updates, monitors, and continuously ensures compliance with the disaster recovery plans, computer security and loss prevention plans, antivirus and firewall protections, etc.Maintains databases and libraries including systems security functions.Researches and diagnoses IT problems within the entire infrastructure, troubleshoot, and provide solutions. Tests solutions to ensure a correct solution.Replies to user problems on PCs to include software applications, systems integration, or individual hardware problems. Troubleshoots, debugs, and resolves the problem.Provides individual support to end users via the phone, in person, or on-line to answer questions or resolve problems.Installs, configures, and tests new servers for systems, fax, printers, etc. Technology includes knowledge of current operation systems and languages.Maintains complete and accurate documentation and support services/warranties for new equipment, software, hardware, and peripherals.Installs and tests new software both for the network and for individual users.May administer the phone system.May be accountable for repair of copiers, printers, PCs, or laptops.Keeps abreast of state-of-the-art hardware and software developments. Recommends new technologies that enhance the efficiency and security of the network infrastructure.Assist with daily and monthly processing duties for the IT departmentAssumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining professional working relations with visitors, callers, and business professionals.Receives and screens visitors and telephone calls.Assists with questions and problems courteously and promptly.Obtains and conveys information as needed.Maintains and projects the credit union's professional reputation by executing its brand standards.Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relations with credit union personnel and with management.Keeps management appropriately informed of area activities and of any significant problems.Attends and participates in meetings as required.Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.Ensures work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.Types memos and letters as requested.Performs miscellaneous clerical functions and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Associate's degree or higher in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field or industry related certifications preferred.
KNOWLEDGE:
Understanding of information technology functions.
Knowledge of all related computer applications.
Understanding of information technology reporting and recordkeeping requirements.
EXPERIENCE:
At least one year of information technology experience.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Well organized.
Accurate and attentive to detail.
Excellent communications and public relations abilities.
Strong typing and computer application skills.
Ability to assist and support others.
Able to operate telephone, PC, copier, and other basic business machines.
