A client is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Associate Brand Manager (ABM) for an emerging whiskey brand. The ABM will play a key role in developing and implementing strategic and tactical brand plans for our brand. This role responsibilities include general management, support in brand program creation and execution of key brand initiatives, coordination and support of brand content creation, financial accountability, P&L analysis. The ideal candidate will possess a creative mindset, encouraging others to think bigger and work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external agencies to produce best-in-class results.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Assist in the planning process to develop consumer-centric programs that break through the market.
- Agency Management & Cross-Functional Team Participation: Collaborate with agencies and cross-functional teams to drive communication strategies from media to shelf, and develop platforms and executions that maximize business results.
- Stage-Gate Process: Shepherd projects through the Stage-Gate process, ensuring the integrity of ideas or concepts is maintained throughout. Mastery of the Stage-Gate process and associated digital platforms is essential.
- Analysis and Reporting:
- Lead analysis and reporting of market and competitor trends to identify key
business opportunities and issues.
- Monitor key performance indicators to provide valuable insights and inform
execution.
- Brand Support:
- Support the Director of Marketing with various brand deliverables, including the budget planning, A&P spend guidelines, and internal engagement plans.
- Manage US social channels with support from external agencies.
- Assist in developing long-term innovation plans, including execution (launch,
content, and budget planning).
- Coordinate with external agencies on asset creation and support national
program and strategy development with local adaptation.
- Collaborate with the creative agencies to create brand assets for continuous and campaign-specific periods.
- Manage financial accountability and P&L analysis through vendor purchase order management and A&P budget tracking.
- Consumer Insights: Gather consumer insights, industry trends, and competitive intelligence to create a holistic view of the consumer, enabling better briefs and product formation.
- Brief Creation: Assist in crafting exceptional briefs that inspire creative partners to think bigger and deliver concepts that surpass consumer research success benchmarks.
- Launch Strategies: Participate in the development of launch strategies and exciting national launch presentations.
Required Skills/Competencies
• Experience: 4+ years in marketing, with experience in strategy and brand development, including brand positioning and building activities (digital/social and retail).
• Financial Acumen: Strong financial, business, and analytical skills; proficiency in Excel is a must.
• Problem-Solving: Proficiency in problem-solving and multitasking.
• Industry Experience: Experience in the U.S. Wine & Spirits industry is preferred.
• Education: BS/BA degree in Marketing or Communications; MBA preferred.
• Structured Thinking: Effective communicator with excellent written and verbal
communication skills, capable of collaborating with partners across all organizational levels.
• Organizational and Project Management: Highly organized with strong project
management skills, an affinity for operational processes and systems, and painstaking attention to detail.
• Multi-Tasking: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with groups of distributed stakeholders and project team members simultaneously.
