Job Summary:
As a Senior Principal DevOps Engineer at our company, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing advanced information systems to support and enhance our enterprise infrastructure. Your expertise will drive the integration of these systems with current applications while ensuring they deliver security, performance, and scalability. You will leverage your deep knowledge of infrastructure, application programming, and web and software applications to lead our efforts in system optimization and innovation.
Roles & Responsibilities:Leadership and Strategy:
Lead the design and automation of infrastructure, championing best practices in service operation, delivery, scale, and observability.Lifecycle Management:
Engage in the full lifecycle of services, from design and inception through deployment, operation, and continuous refinement.System Support:
Provide expert consultation on system design, conduct capacity planning, and review launches to support services before they go live.Service Maintenance:
Ensure optimal service performance by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and system health. Implement sustainable scaling through automation and push for system evolution to boost reliability and deployment velocity.Incident Management:
Actively participate in incident response and conduct blameless postmortems to foster continuous improvement.Core Requirements:
Professional Experience Required:
Minimum of 8 years in DevOps, system administration, or similar roles, with a proven track record in supporting enterprise-level applications.Cloud Expertise:
Extensive experience with Google Cloud; familiarity with Azure and AWS is highly desirable.Technical Proficiency:
Strong command of at least one compiled programming language along with experience in scripting languages such as Bash or Python.Production Engineering:
At least 3-5 years in production engineering or a similar capacity.Systems Knowledge:
Deep understanding of Linux internals, networking, CI/CD methodologies, and best practices with tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or Azure DevOps.Automation and Configuration:
Expertise in using infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef for automated system deployments.Containerization:
Experience deploying applications in containerized environments using Kubernetes or Docker Swarm.Monitoring and Logging:
Familiarity with tools like New Relic, DataDog, Splunk, or ELK for system monitoring and logging.Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced Cloud Knowledge:
Working knowledge of both Azure and GCP.Emerging Technologies:
Experience with Machine Learning implementations.Leadership Skills:
Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.API and Integration Expertise:
Proficient in working with APIs and Plugins for integrating diverse tooling into established CI/CD pipelines.Candidate Attributes:
Problem-Solving Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a capability to optimize code and automate routine tasks.Communication Skills:
