The licensed clinician is a part of a clinical team that completes triage, assessment, and disposition determination for individuals that are experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis in the Behavioral Health Urgent Care facility. The licensed clinician is provided with training to obtain certification as a North Carolina Certified First Commitment Examiner to perform assessments for individuals under Involuntary Commitment status. MUST be FULLY licensed in NC as an LCMHC, LCSW.

Schedule: Multiple Shifts Available

Pay: $26.44 - $28.85 hourly

Shift differential for evenings, weekend, and overnight shifts

Requirements:

Education:

Master's Degree or Higher & 1+ years full-time experience with population served.License, Provisional License, Certificate, Registration, Permit issued by governing board regulating human service profession.Licenses include LCSW, LCMHC or relevant Associate level license

Definitions:

Human Service Degrees Include: Social Service, Sociology, Psychology, or other Human Service Degrees.Populations Served Include: Mentally Ill-Child, Mentally Ill- Adult, Substance Abuse-Adult, Substance Abuse-Child

Additional requirements of the Behavioral Health Specialist IV- Licensed include:

Must meet requirements of professional licenseMust meet the education, experience, licensure/certification requirements specified by the service definition of the service being providedValid driver's license and automotive insurance requiredCPR, first aid, NCI and/or relevant certification, a plus

Job Responsibilities

Facilitating relationships and serving as a link between the company, parents, guardians, local agencies and the communityMinimizing the negative effects of psychiatric symptoms or substance dependence that interfere with the recipient's daily living and personal development, providing supportive counselingSupporting the client in the development of various skill building activities, including: daily and community living skills, socialization skills, adaptation skills, and behavior and anger managementParticipating in a first responder on-call system available to consumers and/or his/her natural support network on a 24/7/365 basis; coordinates "first response" resources according to consumer need and the PCPPerforming Case Management functions of linking and arranging for services and referralsWorking closely with other clinical/professional staff to maintain communication and providing feedback, standardizing procedures and expediting PCP implementationEnsuring that all initial and reauthorizations for services occur in a timely fashionMonitoring utilization of service to ensure that it is effective, appropriate, and within the limits set forth in both rule, PCP, and the service authorization

The Licensed Clinician is part of a clinical team that provides triage, assessment, and de-escalation interventions for individuals experiencing a behavioral crisis. The team develops community-based linkages to care and conducts referrals to higher levels of care as needed. The Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) offers walk-in services to anyone in the community and partners closely with emergency services and law enforcement to reduce utilization of emergency departments and jails. The BHUC operates 24/7/365, serves adults and children, regardless of insurance. The Licensed Clinician provides support to individuals with Behavioral Health Issues, including mental health crises and detox. Interventions are strength-based and focused on promoting recovery, symptom reduction, increased coping skills, and achievement of the highest level of functioning in the community.
