A healthcare system in Westchester County is actively seeking a patient-oriented Gastroenterologist to join their growing staff. In this role, the Gastroenterologist will provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient gastrointestinal care.
About the OpportunitySchedule: Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.Call: 1:7 one week, nightsSetting: Outpatient and InpatientResponsibilities
The Gastroenterologist will:
Diagnose complex medical problems by obtaining a patient's historyPerform physical examCounsel patients on gastrointestinal disordersOrder appropriate diagnostic imaging and lab testing and interpret the results ofstudiesDiscuss test results, diagnosis, treatment plan and prognosis with patientsPrescribe and/or administer treatment and medicationPerform endoscopic procedures, including diagnostic and screening endoscopies and colonoscopies as indicatedQualifications
Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degreeBoard Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology with the American Board of Internal Medicine or equivalentCompletion of specialty training in an ACGME or equivalent Gl fellowship programCurrent New York State Medical Practitioner LicenseCurrent Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registrationDesired skills
