Colson Group USA is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to add to our growing team in St. Joseph, MI location.

The Senior Accountant will be a team member with responsibilities encompassing financial close for both domestic and foreign entities, reporting, and fixed assets. The Senior Accountant will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide strategic financial insights, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, project management, and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles are essential for success in this role.

Essential Job Functions

Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements and journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Generate periodic reports for management, providing insights into the company's financial performance. Audit and Compliance:

Assist with external audits, ensuring timely and accurate submission of required documents. Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations and ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards. Process Improvement:

Prepare and analyze balance sheet account reconciliations, to enhance clarity and accuracy. Assist with implementation of best practices in financial management and reporting. Fixed Assets:

Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recordation of fixed assets. Recommend updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets. Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts. Assist with fixed asset budget and forecast. Assign tag numbers to fixed assets. Conduct quarterly physical counts of fixed assets. Investigate potential obsolescence of fixed assets. Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in Epicor & BNA. Reconcile and calculate depreciation for all fixed assets. General:

Abide by all Colson Policies and procedures. Other responsibilities as assigned. Requirements

Knowledge

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. A CPA (Certified Public Accountant)/ CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification is a plus. Experience

3 years of progressive financial work experience. 3 years of senior level experience in financial planning and analysis or accounting. 3-5 years of experience with business enterprise systems. 5+ years of experience leveraging Microsoft Office applications. 1-3 years of foreign currency financial work experience. Skills

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Advanced Excel financial modeling skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Efficient organization and clear and concise presentation skills. Decision making abilities commensurate with job responsibilities. High attention to detail. Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
