Nurse Practitioner | Physician Assistant - St. Ann's

An FQHC in New York City is looking for a licensed Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician Assistant (PA) to join their growing team in the Bronx. About the Opportunity: Start Date: ASAP Assignment Length: 6 months w/ possibility of extension Schedule: Monday through Friday Specialty: Primary Care Setting: Outpatient Community Health Center ***Local providers only, familiarity with the Bronx is helpful.*** Responsibilities: The Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant (PA) will: Identify and categorize each patient's age-specific grouping of needs, such as those infants, adolescent, or geriatric patients Take histories, perform physical examinations, give immunizations (as necessary) and does patient education and counseling Order appropriate lab work, draws blood for lab work if needed, and performs some lab tests such as wet prep microscopic exams Prescribe treatment for minor illnesses, and consults with physician regarding medication, chronic illness and referrals when appropriate Maintain legible and appropriate documentation and reviews records periodically Attend continuing education programs to increase skills and knowledge Attend provider meetings and participates in quality improvement programs and team assignments Perform other duties, as needed Qualifications: NYS Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician Assistant (PA) license Board-Certified
