Associate Electrical Engineer

The purpose of this position is to support and sustain Instrument Manufacturing activities and facilitate efficient operations within the production environment. Assist in all apsects of electronic design, from the initial feasibilty stage to manufacturing release for next generation diagnostic equipment. Provide technical skill in the areas of schematic design, analysis, debug, and PCB layout. Collaborates with cross functional teams to ensure the successful design, development, testing and implementation of both product and process changes in support of quality, obsolescence, design improvement, and cost reduction improvements. Optimize existing processes to ensure established production goals are achieved.

Primary Duties Include:

1. Resolve technical problems on the production floor

2. Support the non-conformity process to identify root cause of failures on parts and coordinate corrective measures.

3. Identify quality issues and manage resolutions across multiple departments.

4. Complete change management activities to introduce changes to the production floor.

5. Define, review, and check production Bill of Materials (BOM) structures, assembly instructions, and test procedures for use on the production floor.

6. ssist senior engineers in the definition, proof of concept, development, implementation and/or support of technical or business solutions.

7. Works with internal department and project specific teams.

8. Prioritizes activities within the scope of the assignments to ensure schedules or quality of work is successfully achieved.

9. Identify issues and use problem solving tools to formulate the necessary activities to provide successful solutions.

10. Ensure quality of deliverables by following the appropriate design practices and departmental procedures for design control.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills Include:

1. BS in Electrical Engineering with 1-2 years relevant work experience

2. Experience in the design and development of electronic systems with proven ability to design and troubleshoot electrical systems.

3. Knowledge of project software (MS Office Suites - Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)

4. Knowledge of electronic CAD systems

5. Knowledge of quality systems.

6. Timeliness and quality of technical development activities.

7. Quality and completeness of documentation.

8. Development of personal autonomy and time management skills.

9. bility to handle multiple assignments and tasks.

10. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
