The Business Development Manager, Infrared Materials and Optics will help drive sales for Vital Materials, Infrared, Optics and Lasers business unit. As the only company worldwide to grow or melt all of the common infrared optical materials, Vital's portfolio includes germanium, silicon, zinc sulfide, zinc selenide, chalcogenide glasses and more. Components made from these materials include but are not limited to blanks, windows, lenses, and lens assemblies manufactured by our vertically integrated processes. By leveraging Vital's vertical integration from raw materials to complete optical assemblies, global presence, and world-class engineering resources, the business development manager will help Vital grow market share to become the 'Infrared Optical Material Company'.
Job Responsibility:
Expand and grow Vital's presence as the supplier of choice for infrared optical materials and componentsIncrease customer engagements, opportunities, and salesHelp establish business plans for growth and lead their sales implementationEngage with our potential customers and sell in a consultative mannerResponsible for the generation of targeted, competitive, professional proposals and or quotation documentsAs opportunities mature, close, and win continuing and future businessDevelop volume OEM/ODM sales in selected marketsMaintain a regular presence by visiting existing and prospective customers and building increasing rapportConvert business needs into technical specifications for global engineers to understandCommunicate effectively with all stakeholdersCollaboratively develop and achieve metrics for successEnsure customer satisfactionSkills and Experience:
10+ years' experience in infrared optical material salesExperienced with, and passionate about, effective CRM use.Education and Experience:
S. in Engineering or BusinessB.A. desirable

Remote (USA)
Travel:
Regular domestic and occasional international travel is required.
