Hartford HealthCare’s Thoracic Surgery team has an opportunity for a Physician Assistant to join a collaborative growing team of PA’s and physicians in their expanding thoracic surgery service line in Connecticut. This position is located in Bridgeport, CT at Hartford Healthcare Medical Group and St. Vincent’s Medical Center.
The role of the Surgical Physician Assistant includes:
· Participating in all aspect of the patient’s care; from managing consults and new patient visits, to the operating room, as well as follow ups and post-operative appointments in the hospital and outpatient settings
· A well-rounded surgical experience; participating in oncologic care of lung and esophageal cancer patients, as well as benign thoracic and foregut conditions.
· Assisting top tier surgeons in the operating room.
· Learning the latest minimally invasive and open surgical techniques.
· Understanding the role of cancer staging and surgical resection.
· Developing strong working relationships with referring providers.
· Four-day work weeks with 10-hour shifts, flexibility for days off.

Qualifications
· Certified Physician Assistant licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Connecticut.
· Cancer related surgical experience is preferred.
· Robotic surgical experience preferred, willing to train the right candidate.
