DescriptionThe Sr. Project Manager (PM) will successfully manage large-scale Mechanical design New Product Development aerospace and defense programs, either internally or externally funded, with little management oversight.Create and maintain complex project schedules for mechanical engineering driven efforts utilizing Microsoft Project software.Ensure all mechanical engineering project related tasks are identified, tracked, and executed within budgetary and schedule commitments.Coordinate project status review meetings for ongoing projects taking detailed action items and ensure they are properly addressed and closed with minimal management oversight with our aerospace and space customers.Maintain financial status projections for mechanical engineering driven projects.Support project schedule and budgetary goals by facilitating internal and external project meetings (Kickoff, PDR, CDR, etc.) and be responsible for subsequent action item management.Assist in proposal development by generating and reviewing management, technical and cost proposal volumes with little management oversight.Act as focal point for project specific purchase requisitions and verify whether expenditures are compliant to budgetary expectations and costs allocated correctly.Provide mechanical design project status updates, either internal or external, when required.Maintain risk management checklists for assigned engineering efforts.Review aerospace, space or military customer requests ensuring that they comply with project contractual agreements and don’t evolve into scope creep.Onsite with flex schedule opportunities.RequirementsPROJECT MANAGER KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:Must be eligible to pass drug screen, background check and prove US citizenship under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) for all employees of Chemring Energetic Devices.Bachelor's degree in Engineering or business related field and 5+ years of related Aerospace/Military industry experience.Previous project management experience working either internally or externally funded efforts is necessary.A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected for mechanical design projects.Ability to work with peers and cross-functional teams.Good communication skills and a willingness to overcome obstacles.Ability to multi-task in support of end-result/goal.Proficient with MS Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, etc.).Proficient in the application of systems engineering and project management principles.Advanced degree or certificate in a related discipline a plus. MSME, MBA, PMP, etc.
