What you will be doing

Responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of a Cassandra Database System, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of our corporate applications.

Working with the infrastructure team, be responsible for standard databases administration duties: including, but not limited to, installation, patching and change migration, monitoring, backup, and recovery.

Provide support for production, development, and test databases.

What you bring:

4-8 years' experience around NoSQL Database Systems.

Core competency around Cassandra Database.

Good understanding around security aspects (like data encryption strategies)

Knowledge of Cassandra data modelling and CQL scripting.

Good understanding of homogeneous and heterogeneous database migration.

Hands-on experience around configuring Cassandra connectors with Kafka or other distributed messaging systems.

Added bonus if you have:

Additional Knowledge of a second database technology like MongoDB database.

Good understanding of cloud technologies especially around AWS.

Hands-on experience of maintaining Data Pipelines.

Experience with both Windows and Linux Operating Systems

Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.

Provide technical support and coordination for core infrastructure components including server, network, storage, software and middleware.

Communicate effectively with team members, developers, and management.

Refine and automate regular processes, track issues and document changes.
