Understanding and valuing these differences optimizes the potential of both the individual and the firm.HarbourVest is an equal opportunity employer.This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 2-3 days minimum per week in the office.The Private Equity Accountant is responsible for the financial accounting and reporting for a variety of the firm's fund portfolio.The ideal candidate is someone who is:Able to exhibit strong technical accounting skillsFocused on providing timely, accurate workAble to effectively communicate both verbally and writtenWork independently as well as successfully part of a teamWhat you will do:Maintain general ledger accounts for assigned fund portfolioResponsible for all aspects of daily and monthly activities related to the funds, including preparing cash analyses to determine distribution needs, preparing distribution packages, and monthly bank reconciliationsPerform quarterly reconciliations for fund operating activityProduce quarterly capital account statements and other required reporting, such as debt compliance reportsPrepare annual audited financial statements and assist auditors with annual auditPrepare ad hoc requests and help with department projects related to continuous improvementWhat you bring:High level of attention to detail and desire to continuously learnStrong technical accounting knowledgeStrong work ethic and collaborative approachStrong digital literacyEducation:Bachelor of Science (B.S) or equivalent experience (CPA a plus)Work Experience:3-5 years; finance/accounting experience
