Make a difference, come join the team!What’s the role?The Senior Staff Accountant will interface with various departments of the company, review and prepare data entered into the general ledger system, enabling fast and easy analysis. They will maintain and understand the General Ledger activities within Carl Zeiss Shared Services entities. This position includes processing daily bank transactions, preparing and posting JE’s for Zeiss companies. The successful individual should have analytical skills with a good understanding of SAP and will report to the Senior Manager of Accounting.Sound Interesting?Here’s what you’ll do:Process daily cash activities and perform monthly bank reconciliations for all cash accounts and CZ Financial Service reconciliation.Support month-end close procedures, including calculating and posting accruals, monthly prepaid entries.Maintain and manage SAP accounting periods.Post all general ledger entries based on business group calculations and input.Answer accounting and financial questions from partner companies by researching and interpreting data. Collaborate with affiliated companies to true up various accruals and provisions.Responsible for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close of the General Ledger and support year-end notes submission to the Parent Company.Submit financials to the parent company adhering to Corporate Calendar deadlines.Perform monthly General Ledger analysis and balance sheet reconciliations in a timely manner.Reconcile intercompany transactions with affiliates.Provide support and prepare documentation for external auditors.Post payroll entries in GL and personnel-related monthly accruals.Analyze and support any payroll-related questions by researching and interpreting data.Do you qualify?Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.10+ years of experience in the accounting field, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Proficient in SAP.Advanced Excel skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).Strong organizational and analytical skills.Proficient in reading and understanding technical forms and financial reports.Deadline-oriented with excellent time management abilities.Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.Productivity-driven mindset.Nice to Haves:CPAWorking Conditions and Special Demands:Hybrid work schedule – 3 days in the office/2 days remote.We have amazing benefits to support you as an employee at ZEISS!MedicalVisionDental401k MatchingEmployee Assistance ProgramsVacation and sick payThe list goes on!The annual pay range for this position is $88,400 – $110,500. The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus or sales commissions.
