Senior Messaging Engineer
Chicago, IL – WFH 3 days/week, onsite 2 days/week in the loop
Summary The Senior Messaging Engineer is responsible for operational support of and project initiatives for the global enterprise messaging environment, where you'll join a team of 4 engineers (you'll be the 5th). This position/team provides maintenance, support, and enhancements of the messaging systems including M365, Exchange, Outlook, Proofpoint, MDM Solutions, Email archiving, Active Directory, Azure AD and Application Performance Management.
What you'll be doing
Serve as subject matter expert for email client software such as Microsoft Office 365 Professionally coordinate, collaborate with and assist Customer Support (Tier 1 and Tier 2) personnel with messaging related incidents Interface and coordinate with third-party software vendors as needed to achieve timely resolution of business impacting problems Provide recommendations on optimizing the performance of system environment, including security best practices, reconfiguration, maintenance and/or upgrades Train engineers and support specialist on operating and supporting messaging solutions Manage mail gateway systems Adapt communication content, message, and terminology based on audience expressing ideas in a succinct manner using plain language Monitor and analyze messaging to ensure 99.9% uptime Document system uptime and usage metrics Provide 24x7 On-Call support on a rotating basis
Skills we're seeking
7+ years of experience with Messaging Engineering experience Must have strong Exchange experience Must have strong ProofPoint experience Must have strong Active Directory experience Must have M365 experience
Nice to haves
MDM experience Azure AD experience Bachelor's Degree, preferably in an IT related field Relevant certifications
