As a Consulting Utility Forester, you'll keep communities informed about the trees and power lines, while ensuring safe delivery of their power and pursuing opportunities to develop sustainable habitat throughout the utility right-of-way. Staying organized and scheduling/booking work travel and hotelsR&D projects such as tree inventories, lidar inspections, etc.Contact property owners & public agencies regarding pruning and/or removalsConduct tree and brush inventoriesConduct hazard tree inspections and evaluationsPlan work for tree contractorsManage dataEnforce on-the-job safety practicesCarry and utilize materials, tools, and equipment at work siteService trucks and equipment, keep trucks and other assigned equipment in a neat and orderly fashionEmergency ResponsePerform other related duties as required or assignedRequirements:
Extensive travel (80%-100%) throughout the United StatesTree species identification skills and invasive species knowledge, plus knowledge of tree growth ratesAbility to obtain ISA Arborist Certification within 6 months of hire is requiredValid driver's license with clean driving recordAbility to work independentlyStrong verbal and written communications skillsExcellent customer service skills a priorityAbility work in rugged terrain and inclement weatherProficient in map navigation skillsExperience with Microsoft Office and data collection software (GIS experience a plus)
