is currently hiring for an experienced

Water Resources Client Team Leader / Senior Project Manager

in our Water and Environment Business Unit. DEA’s Water Resources Group continues to grow in technical expertise and is looking for someone who can market these skills to current and potential clients. Typical Water Resource projects may include

Surface and stormwater management

Hydrologic/hydraulic analyses in support of culvert/bridge design, scour analyses, floodplain modeling, and permitting

Riparian restoration design

Fish passage design

The primary focus for this position will be to grow our Oregon Water Resources Market and lead Water Resource projects. The responsibilities for this role will be diverse and will include participating in both business development activities and project management.

Client Team Leader responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Responsible for the full relationship and overall client experience of clients in the Water Resources market

Develop significant new business, lead client teams and cross-business unit selling, assess client technology trends, and perform client sales forecasting

Manage the overall client experience and build, maintain, and deepen the client relationships

Monitor project manager performance on their client’s projects

Conduct client experience surveys

Coach project managers on client expectations and provide feedback on project manager and delivery team performance, including removing underperforming project managers or staff

Engage in project recovery and supports collections as needed

Identify and pursue Water Resource-specific project opportunities

Make go/ no-go decisions and determine pursuit staffing and teaming partners

Responsible for client profitability, favorable contract terms, revenue forecasting, and the client sales result

Project Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Serve as a pursuit champion and project manager as appropriate for Water Resource projects

Ensure excellence in project execution for on-time, on-budget deliverables of a quality that meet or exceed the industry’s standard of care

Provide design leadership and guidance to project teams and staff. Review engineering documents and deliverables for compliance with contractual requirements as part of DEA’s Quality Management requirements

Work with the Water Resources Practice and Group Leaders to ensure office resources are available to complete existing project work as well as work committed to in proposals

Attract, develop, and retain key talent; set expectations and manage performance

Partner with Water Resources staff to support employee development and career growth opportunities for project delivery staff

Work with the Water Resources Practice and Group Leaders to ensure the Business Unit metrics and DEA’s stated key results are met, including, but not limited to: sales, backlog, growth, utilization, accounts receivable, employee satisfaction, team satisfaction, client satisfaction, profit, at-work revenue factor, operating income, and days sales outstanding

Adhere to firmwide tools, processes, and policies including project accounting (set up, budgeting, etc.), contracting, and quality requirements

Basic Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in stormwater management and/or water resource design

Registered Engineer in Oregon

Strong written and verbal communication skills

15+ years of experience as a hydrology and hydraulic design engineer working on water resource design, stream restoration, and fish passage projects

5+ years in a business development role with clients in the Oregon market

Preferred Qualifications

20+ years of experience

Registered Engineer in Washington

Experience working with Departments of Transportation, local municipalities and utilities, and local, state and federal regulatory agencies

Familiarity with GIS

Storm and surface water master planning

Proficient in Microstation Inroads Storm and Sanitary, Civ3D, CivilStorm, StormShed, MGSFlood, SRH2D, HEC-RAS2D, HY-8, and Excel
