Mandatory Qualifications:
Minimum of eight (8) years of experience aligning IT systems with organizational business processes.• At least five (5) years of that experience must have been in a lead capacity.• Must possess a Bachelor's degree in an IT-related or Engineering Field.• Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for year basis
Desirable Qualifications:• Possession of a valid Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) Enterprise Certification from Cisco.• Possession of a valid Aruba Certified Edge Professional (ACEP) Certification from Aruba.• Possession of a valid Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) Certification from CWNP.• Possession of a valid Ekahau Certified Survey Engineer (ECSE) Certification from Ekahau.• Experience with building construction and fire code compliance. OR• Construction permits processes, and / or inspection processes.
1. Manages, configures, and deploys core/wired DSH network infrastructure in support of Continuum including but not limited to routers, switches, appliances, firewalls, load balancers, SD-WAN, SDLAN controllers, Intrusion Detection System/Intrusion Prevention Systems, DNS/DHCP, security software, network monitoring tools and all other associated current and future network related software and hardware across on-prem enterprise, cloud, and hybrid network infrastructure. Conducts analysis on business requirements to develop technical network solutions and plans implementation, configuration and rollout of network patches, enhancements, and refreshes. Designs, tests, and inspects enterprisescale network systems.
2. Performs core/wired network modeling, analysis, and planning. Installs network hardware, software, and components. Develops network technology diagrams, blueprints, and documentation. Develops network change test and implementation plans for Continuum related network improvements and enhancements. Patches, refreshes, and maintains network hardware, software, tools and systems.
3. Performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose medium complexity level 2 network problems. Upgrades network hardware and software components as required to maintain business continuity and uptime. Resolves level 2 networking issues, complaints and tickets covering service issues routed to the core network team. Addresses outages/ uptime and latency/performance issues as they arise.
4. Develops up to level 2 issues of medium complexity including micro and macro automations, scripts, policies, and configurations that will interact with various firewall, load-balancing, SD-WAN/SD-LAN, switching, routing and wired infrastructure required for delivery of the Continuum suite of applications and services to end user devices and IOT devices.Ensures reliable uptime, security, redundancy, level of service and ensures overall health, stability, and maintenance of the DSH core network in support of Continuum integrations, sub-systems, stakeholders, vendors and end-users.
5. Analyzes, recommends, plans, and implements large and complex network changes and migrations. Monitors high availability, health, redundancy, and stability of the core network environment from core to edge using network monitoring software on-prem and in the cloud. Ensures the network is up, reliable, secure, and serviceable in collaboration with OTech network administrators, vendors and network service providers (Telecommunication, etc.)
6. Ensures that all network infrastructure systems are secured, patched, and remain in good working order and tests proposed configuration changes for minimal downtime and impact to end-users. Works closely with Information Security staff and other cross discipline teams across TSD to ensure that core wired, and cloud network infrastructure configurations meet all state and DSH required security standards and best practices.
7. Creates and maintains documentation of all DSH network resources, including configurations, network diagrams, equipment, software, vendor support, circuits, and licensing. Designs and coordinates the installation, racking, power and stacking of network equipment with other core network team members.
8. Trains, mentors, and guides more junior engineering staff across disciplines and plays a direct role in the training and development of peers, cross team engineers and senior/junior level systems engineers working within the Continuum system to ensure a wide range of knowledge transfer is completed regularly, ensuring system stability over the long term.
9. Updates knowledge of best practices and technical skillset by keeping track of new and emerging technologies and strategies, partaking in workshops, self-paced trainings and other educational opportunities, widening personal skillset and knowledge base. Network and read industry popular publications and websites to stay up to date on industry trends, latest strategies and emerging technologies in the space.
