Job Description
MAJOR FUNCTION:
Oncology Coordinator will perform as the lead expert in education and resources to facilitate informed decision making and timely access to quality health and psychosocial care throughout all phases of the cancer continuum while working directly with our Oncology providers. The coordinator will be responsible to facilitate rapid scheduling, coordinate care across service lines and sites of care, identify and remove barriers to care, track patients to ensure compliance with treatment and surveillance plan. Provides patient and family education related to disease processes, as well as available internal and external support services and resources. The coordinator will serve as a clinical expert in facilitating and delegating all care aspects that might include but not limited to pre and post op education and side effect management. The coordinator will participate in our accreditations and manage compliancy for specific nurse driven accreditation standards. Excellent communication and facilitation skills required. Ideal candidate is self-motivated and demonstrates strong leadership, critical thinking skills and compassion.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:Graduate of an approved RN nursing program, BSN required or obtained per Inspira policy (MSN preferred).3-5 years of experience as a registered nurse with recent Oncology Nursing experience including the supervision and clinical coordination of cancer care to patients and families in an acute care setting or outpatient oncology practice setting preferred OR a strong clinical background caring for diverse groups of patients.Certification/Licensure:
Valid NJ RN license.BLS required.Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or Nurse Navigation Certification through the (AONN) or like certification preferred and required within 3 years of employment.Physical Requirements:N: Never O: Occasionally ( 80%) Lifting
