The CDL - A Truck Driver will pick up, safely transport, and deliver machinery to various customers located anywhere within continental United States. Drivers are also required to prepare reports (either electronic or paper) to ensure that they meet the necessary requirements to operate legally.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The truck driver will pick up machinery at a designated customer or at one of our warehouses as instructed by their dispatcher, safely transport the product, and deliver it in a timely manner, and in good condition.The driver will be required to follow ALL State and Federal Regulations required to operate a commercial motor vehicle by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).The driver will be required to secure the machinery to a flatbed, step deck, double drop, or RGN with the use of chains and binders.Most loads will require the application of a tarp, to keep the machinery protected from the elements.The driver will be required to know the weight and dimensions of the load that they are picking up.All oversized loads (loads exceeding 13'6 high, 8'6 wide and 80,000 lbs.) will require a permit to operate in ech state traveled. The driver will be responsible to know if their load will require a permit, to obtain the permit from dispatch, to understand the restrictions of the permit (if any) before leaving the point of origin, and before entering each state thereafter.The driver will be responsible for logging their Hours of Service (HOS) and remaining compliant at all times.The driver will be responsible for inspections and vehicle paperwork (to include a cab card, proof of insurance, IFTA, annual permits, trailer registrations, DOT annual inspection).On occasion the driver will be required to work in the warehouse, clean up in the yard, help load, chain, strap, tarp other loads going out of the facility, assist with the rigging process, operate a forklift (must be certified to operate), and other duties assigned by management.Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education):

Valid Class A CDLHigh School Diploma or equivalent is required.One (1) year of verifiable experience.Strong oral and written communication skills (in English) are required.A strong understanding of FMCSA & DOT regulations.The ability to successfully communicate with management and customers.Basic computer skills are required to be successful in this position.Preferred Qualifications (Experience, Skills and Education):

ELD experience is a plus.

hysical Requirements & Working Conditions:

Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as sitting, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to fumes, outside weather conditions and noise from a tractor trailer and within a maintenance shop. The employee is frequently exposed to large machines, chains, binders, and tarps.
