Ukrop's Homestyle Foods is seeking to hire Sanitation Associates (Manufacturing Specialist I) at our Fresh Kitchen located at 600A Southlake Boulevard, Richmond, Virginia 23236.
Various 1st shift positions available,
includes weekends
with occasional overtime and holiday shifts required during holiday peaks.
Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Specialist I in the Sanitation Department is a full-time, entry-level position that performs a variety of basic duties associated with equipment and supply cleaning and sanitation processes, to ensure compliance with regulatory food safety and environmental laws are met. Successful candidates, must be able to work a flexible schedule and work the posted schedule. Must be a team player and self-motivated, ability to effectively communicate with supervisors and coworkers, and knowledgeable in the principles of sanitation and Food safety.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ensure all sanitation, equipment and facility cleaning, programs and documentation are met according to guidelinesPerform housekeeping and cleaning of facility restrooms, break rooms and common areasWork in conjunction with other associates in cleaning equipment, removal of condensation and foaming and sanitizing of departmentsAbility to disassemble and assemble equipment for cleaningWork in wet and warm environment utilizing industrial dishwashing equipmentHandle and apply cleaning and sanitizing chemicals safelyFollow cleaning and sanitizing proceduresMaintain sanitation equipment in a clean and organized mannerSupports GFSI and FSMA. Assists in ensuring that the SQF system is in place and that we follow all aspects of HACCP plan, SSOPs, and GMPs throughout the plant. Reports all food safety issues to an immediate supervisorSupports an accident-free work culture. When developing, or modifying production processes, assists in accident prevention and risk identification. Collaborates with HR/Safety Manager to minimize risk exposure from ingredient, equipment, or ergonomicsEducation and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED requiredSix to twelve (6-12) months of food or manufacturing experience is preferredMinimum Physical Requirements:
The position responsibilities frequently require:
Reading, comprehending, and following verbal and written instructionsPerforming basic arithmetic to execute duties described above (measuring, follow recipes)
The physical demands of the position frequently include:
Standing and/or walking for a minimum of four hoursRepetitive bending, reaching, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting product weighing up to 50 lbs.Exposure to variations in warm and humid temperature caused by equipment
