Responsibilities
Safely monitor, maintain, and operate all process equipmentMaintain unit safety and housekeeping standardsPerforms servicing, lubrication, and minor maintenance of assigned equipment, including alarms and Process Safety Management (PSM) testingLoading for process products in railcars and/or truckMonitor unit operation and take appropriate action to ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and Company standards as they pertain to Environmental, Health and SafetyStart-up/Shutdown of plant equipmentAdjust controls to operate equipment in the recommended or prescribed operating rangesDe-pressure equipment, lines and vessels as need for maintenance and daily operationsRead, monitor and record various operating conditions such as pressure, temperature, hours of operations, fuel consumed, water levels, etc.Ensure regulatory compliance and record keeping requirements are met and continually monitoredVisually inspect equipment and controls at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment or lubricationFollow procedures at all times according to all Standard Operating Procedures and plant proceduresImplement and carryout LO/TO procedures to accommodate operations daily needsAdhere to all OSHA and plant mandated HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) policiesSafety Awareness: Ability to recognize and identify potential hazards. Evaluates changes in work environment with respect to impact on safety of self and others. Understands potential threats created by deviation from safety procedures and improper use of tools and equipment. Uses personal protection equipment. Uses tools and equipment in compliance with manuals and training. Calls attention to potential and actual hazardous conditions as they arise. Demonstrates knowledge of lockout/tag out procedures. Stops work if there are unsafe working conditions.Qualifications
Strong process improvement & safety mentalityAbility to multitask and handle multiple simultaneous assignmentsSelf-motivatedDemonstrated problem solving and organizational skillsMechanical Aptitude: Develops ability to understand and apply mechanical concepts and principles such as, but not limited to, sounds, heat conduction, velocity, gravity, friction, pressure, kinetic and potential energy, etc. when working or using mechanical machineryAbility to work a 12-hour rotating shift (including evenings, weekends and holidays) and/or respond to callouts as necessaryThe ability to demonstrate conscientiousness, dependability and commitment to the role, team and companyAbility to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditionsBasic computer skills such as: opening, creating and updating content in MS Word documents and Excel spreadsheets and using CMMS system for plant PM's is requiredAbility to train as board operator for relief dutiesMust be able to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level and lift up to 50 lbs., work in adverse weather conditionsA minimum of a high school diploma and 2-8 years of Process Field Operator experience
