Part of the Performance Services department, Costume Shop overhires are casual, hourly employees reporting to and supervised by the Costume Shop Manager and staff. Job Description

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:1-3 years of experience in a professional theatrical/performance environment, in general/various operations or a specific area

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES REQUIRED:Must be able to work independently, take direction, move with urgency, remain diplomatic and calm in fast-paced situations

Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, FileMaker, and/or similar formats for record-keeping and communications is helpful

Interest in and knowledge of costume construction techniques, wardrobe maintenance

WORK ENVIRONMENT:Indoor environments, some with low light: stages, backstage areas, dressing rooms, costume shop, props storage, office spaces, closets, catwalks

Seated and standing positions

May work closely with student workers

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, ETC:Some nights and weekends required

Local travel may be required (valid driver’s license necessary)

May be required to be able to lift and move 40 pounds

May be required to be able to climb stairs, ladders

ADMINISTRATIVE CONDITIONSFinal compensation offered is based on applicants’ experience, potential, level of specialization, and is determined by Berklee HR.

Accepted candidates will join Berklee’s payroll and submit hours worked via Workday as appropriate.
