Work Environment

The Senior Human Resources Business Partner is a hybrid eligible position from our Reno, NV office. Hybrid schedules are 3 days in office and 2 days from home.

Overview

The Sr. Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for supporting the corporation's leadership through effective human capital development, deployment, and management. Train and communicate employee relations policies, practices, and procedures to ensure fairness in the workplace. Support business initiatives that maximize productivity, efficiency, and the return on investment for human capital. Partner with assigned business units and HR team in the delivery of response inquiries of payroll and the administration of employee benefits, including time off programs, group medical plans, insurance benefits, 401(k), performance management, and employee rewards programs. Support the organization in staffing initiatives and workforce renewal efforts, deliver management and staff development programs, manage employee claims/complaints, and ensure the corporation’s compliance in the administration of policies, benefits, and employee relations programs. Perform special assignments as directed by the AVP-HR or assigned CIG management to accomplish workforce initiatives designed to achieve the established objectives of the organization. Research, develop, train, and deploy corporate training and development programs to include individual development career growth plans, team building and/or training programs, corporate compliance training (harassment), succession planning, and role-by-role development path and training requirements.

Responsibilities

Manage leave of absence for assigned groups through 3rd party vendor that encompasses advising employees of different leaves, notifications to managers, technical support, and payroll for coordination purposes.

Review yearly merit increases and compensation to ensure accuracy and that effective change dates align with the payroll cycle. Ensure that the merit and the review are aligned. Review HR Actions for accuracy, review and approve or decline changes in the HRIS system, and notify the payroll manager for completion.

Notify the manager and payroll regarding worker’s compensation. Complete required documentation/paperwork to ensure compliance.

Assist managers with performance issues regarding verbal or written warnings for assigned group employees. Review documentation devised by the manager to ensure compliance when issuing written warnings or PIP (performance improvement plan), along with documentation from the manager regarding past warnings. Participate in all assigned group Expectation, PIP, or Written Warning meetings with manager and employee.

Support management in recruitment and selection efforts by being an HR interviewer for all supervisors and up positions within the assigned group.

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for employees and management within assigned business groups.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or Five to Eight years of hands-on experience in an operational human resources role required. Experience in insurance or the financial services industry preferred.

SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.

Salary Range:

$67,553 - $111,462

The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as benefits and bonus programs.
