Responsibilities
JOB DUTIESIn accordance with
GAT LLC's
business and marketing plans, tramway blueprints,
manuals
and warranty requirements, manages and oversees all phases of activity associated with the maintenance, repair, and physical operation of the tram and its related structures,
equipment
and utilities.Develops and oversees the
subsequent
implementation of long-term maintenance and capital improvement plans and budgets; oversees all new tram-related capital construction or replacement project work, focusing on scope, schedule, and budget of each project.Develops and manages all areas associated with risk management, and the safety of employees and the public; develops and implements emergency evacuation procedures and training; authorizes and directs evacuation of lift passengers; conducts required inspections related to the lift and its structure.Recruits, hires, directs, trains, evaluates, disciplines, and initiates termination action of subordinates; initiates activities to meet the goals and
objectives
of the Shareholder Hire program.As needed, and in emergencies (less than 40%), performs technical repair or maintenance work related to tram controls and electrical components/systems.In close cooperation and participation with other tramway departmental managers,
identifies
and resolves problems and issues related to the
service and physical operation of the tramway,
in order to
meet G
AT LLC's
goals and
objectives
in offering an enjoyable experience for its customers and a smooth and profitable operation for its shareholders.Develops, tracks, and
modifies
the operating budget for the tram M & O department; ensures compliance with all
city
, state, and federal regulations and codes
pertaining to
aerial tramway facility operation.Performs other incidental and related duties as
required
and assigned.
Qualifications
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESExtensive knowledge of the operation of aerial lift and/or tramway facilities, terminals and related equipment, common industry practices and considerations; maintenance and repair requirements, and applicable building, ANSI, OSHA, NEC, NFPA and health codes.Extensive knowledge and skill in one of the required trades, such as the mechanical or electrical fields.Ability to troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, or rebuild systems and components of the facility and related equipment.Ability to physically climb out of the tramway cabin.Excellent communication and customer service skills.Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.Ability to read and
comprehend
information in written manuals.Skill in operating personal computer
utilizing
a variety of computer software.Working knowledge/familiarity of tram operations systems.Skill in
establishing
and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees, and supervising, guiding, and training staff.Ability to work directly with the public, providing information and
assistance
on a daily basis
.Ability/willingness to learn and pass on to passengers those areas of interest to visitors, such as local history, people, culture, geography, etc.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education and experience)Bachelor's
degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, ANDFive (5) years of facility management experience related to aerial lifts or tramways, including electrical or mechanical skills applied to the
operation, maintenance, and repair of capital equipment and structures (electrical controls, hydraulics, and wire-rope
);
ORTen (10) years of facility management experience related to aerial lifts or tramways, including electrical or mechanical skills applied to the operation, maintenance, and repair of capital equipment and structures (electrical controls, hydraulics, and wire-rope).Current CPR and first aid certificatesDrug testing may be
required
