TECHNICAL SPECIALIST - FIELD SERVICES - ALASKA

Key performance areas

As the

Technical Specialist , you will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical aspects of underground mining equipment and components at high profile mining sites. The

Technical Specialist

is also responsible for new equipment commissioning and training at customer sites with minimal supervision. This role will largely cover the Alaska market.

Your profile

You possess a technical certification or diploma in mechanical or electrical fields and a minimum of 7 years industry-related experience. Diesel and high voltage electrical experience would be an advantage. You are a team player with excellent communication and active listening skills and the ability to maintain strong customer relations with internal and external customers. You are flexible and self-motivated, with a drive to achieve customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Independently conduct advanced and specialized inspections, fault finding, installations, repairs, adjusting/fine tuning, and commissioning of products and equipment at customer site or own premises.

Determine the best approach, considering energy efficiency, environmental impact and maintenance costs when providing customer support.

Perform complex troubleshooting and repairs independently and provide technical feedback on important issues to TIM/TFM/CPI systems.

Complete analysis of failed product and report on any abnormalities to the relevant party.

Operate equipment proficiently to test and diagnose issues independently.

Conduct and support warranty investigation.

Setup equipment connectivity to customer network and commission onboard automation.

Report on installation, maintenance, and repair work and make recommendations to improve processes or advise customer based on findings and observations.

Support the customer’s product/application/competency by advising on possible upgrades to more advanced solutions and products.

Guide, coach, and train technicians in service methods and tools and monitor the quality of their maintenance work.
